Ranks
Novice – Someone who activated their Chymos. Cannot purposefully hone the Chymos or create any meaningful effect. By tapping into the emotion that aligns with the Chymos, they can accidentally use their powers, but it isn’t without years of training that they can actually use it effectively.
Regulator – Someone who is able to use their Chymos and is able to also maintain it. It is through mindfulness and attunement that they empower themselves. Those at this level have to constantly regulate their powers through meditation and training in order to be balanced enough to use it. They must also maintain the weapon they use for channeling constantly. For this reason, they are called regulators.
Master – At this level, using their Chymos becomes second nature. They are attuned enough with it that they do not need to think or maintain themselves. The balancing is second nature. They can also begin to use mantras of the gods to empower themselves. By meditating on these words and letting them become part of themselves, they can then use them to enhance their abilities further. What it does at this stage is unique to the goal of the person and the favor of the gods. Any god can bless any mantra. It is well known that a crafty master can defeat a deity.
Archon – Either through rigorous work or through the blessings of the gods, people here have achieved mastery over their Chymos. At this level, a person can create weapons based on their Chymos’s activators out of Chymos itself. Many choose not to carry weapons anymore or remove the blade from their hilts to denote this status. Archons can be a credible threat to deities of any kind. Archons can ascend at the end of their lives to deities. Demigods tend to be archon level at the height of their power. For someone who was born human, this is the highest level they can achieve through effort alone.
Species
Human – Given the gift of Chymos by the Gods.
Demigod - A half god or half titan. They are able to master their Chymos faster than a normal person.
Nymph - Nearly immortal female divinities that are associated with fertility, nature, and bodies of water. They normally live in groups close to forests, lakes, or rivers. They always have a Chymos alignment of Water and Earth, allowing them to use both easily. However, this also means they are incapable of learning anything else. They tend to stay away from human civilizations, but are often at war with their male counterparts, the Satyrs. They normally swear fealty to one God which then protects them from danger in exchange for their services.
Satyrs - Nearly immortal male divinities with the lower body of goats and horns. They are known to be extremely aggressive and disloyal to all outside groups. Due to their deviant nature, is only through complete domination that one can create an 'alliance' with them. They are often at war with their female counterparts, the nymphs but avoid attacking them if they are under the protection of a God. Their Chymos alignment is always Fire and Earth.
Gods – Born or ascended, even the lowliest god starts at an archon's level of power. Ascension requires a very specific set of circumstances that are unknown to all but the fates. Reincarnated Gods are the only type of God to start with their powers locked away, as those of any human. However, once their Chymos is awakened, they reach the level of their counterparts fairly quickly. Gods that choose to take up duties and responsibilities to the plane give back to it as an exchange for their unique powers. Gods without duties are referred to as Alitis. They do not have any special powers, but like any God, are able to master two Chymos, so long as they are complimentary.
Titan – The immortals that came before the Gods. Their powers allow them to use their Chymos, without the need for a weapon. In fact, the Titans are so proud that they refuse to attune themselves at all, relying instead on their raw power. For this reason, they are not the kind to use strategy in battle either. The only way to create a new Titan is to be born to a Primordial God.
Primordial God – The original Gods. They are also the most powerful as at the beginning of time and space, they absorbed much of the boundless energy that was used to create the universe. They are generally neutral to even the conflicts of the deities, as they see pointless conflict beneath them. However, when they involve themselves, the results are normally cataclysmic. They gave the other gods the gift of Chymos.
