Much of the crowd was none the wiser to the antics of the Satyr, as their valuables were easily pilfered and placed into his posession. However, as he attempted to signal the streetrat, it seemed as though eyes were already trained on him, and figures within the crowd would begin to move-- not towards him but somehow still in unison.

The musical satyr captivated the crowds with his lute and clever wit. The audience, particularly the women, were enamored with his every word as he sang.
The sound of his voice and the chords of his instrument weaved a spell over the listeners, and they hung on every note and word. His lyrics, a symphony of emotions, spoke to the hearts of those who heard them. As the musician played on, the crowd continued to grow, drawn to the beauty of his music and the enchantment of his words.
It was clear that this musician was a true performer, with a rare talent for capturing the hearts and imaginations of his audience.
The town square of Atlas City was filled with the sounds of music and applause, as the performer continued to entrance the adoring crowds.
----
As the young woman made her way down the narrow alleyway, she was struck by the palpable energy of the city in festive mode. The bright lights and sounds of the festivities were in stark contrast to the shadows and hushed whispers that surrounded her. She had followed a whim and found herself in the midst of a seedy underbelly, where illicit trades and risky gambles were taking place.
A gruff man approached her, offering her a small bag filled with a powdery substance. "Looking for a good time?" he leered, "This will make you forget all your troubles, sweetheart." A hand extended out to her with a small packet foiled with a lightningbolt on it. "It's called Zeus's Strike. It can even awaken your chymos."

The Festival of Minos was in full swing in Atlas City. Amidst the towering skyscrapers and flashing neon lights, the citizens of Atlas gathered in the streets to celebrate the legend of the great King Minos, the ruler of Crete who was said to have been gifted with the power to tame the ferocious beasts of the labyrinth. It was the first day-- a time of both merriment and unease.
The city was alive with the sounds of music and laughter, as vendors sold their wares and revelers danced and drank the day away. The streets were lined with food stalls, where the aroma of roasting meats and baking bread wafted through the air, tempting even the most modest of appetites.
Despite the festive atmosphere, there was a seedy underbelly to the celebration, as illicit substances were traded and consumed in dark alleys and hidden clubs. The city was known for its tolerance of vice, and the Festival of Minos was no exception, drawing all manner of unsavory characters looking for a good time.
But for the families who had come out to celebrate, there was still plenty of wholesome entertainment to be found. Children laughed and played games, while their parents watched on with pride. Acrobats and fire-eaters entertained the crowds, and musicians filled the air with their sweet melodies.
At the center of the festivities was a massive statue of the legendary King Minos, towering over the city and serving as a reminder of the city's rich cultural heritage. The statue was adorned with garlands of flowers, and offerings of food and drink were laid at its feet, in honor of the tale passed down through the ages.
As the night soon overtook day, the celebration became wilder, with drunken revelers dancing in the streets and singing bawdy songs. The music grew louder, and the laughter more raucous, as the citizens of Atlas gave themselves over to the spirit of the festival.
And yet, amidst all the debauchery, there were moments of tenderness and compassion. Couples whispered sweet nothings to each other as they walked hand in hand, and families hugged each other close, grateful for the love and togetherness they shared.
The city was in a stir, a sign that there would be intrigue and delights for those who sought either.

Grand Sparta, ever connected with it's Greek fatherland places significant focus on the celebrations that overlap between the two of them. Among the many celebrations throughout the year, one of the largest relates to the story of the Minotaur and his labyrinth. In an almost macabre celebration of the story, a group of 14 Spartan citizens volunteer every year as 'sacrifice' and sent into a labyrinth, from which they had to escape in a televised event. They would be placed inside with a group of enraged bulls, and while this is normally good fun, sometimes people's failures have resulted in death. Still, for the Spartan people, a death during this festival is considered glorious and as such many believe the souls ascend to elysium as a result. However, every year, more and more people seem to perish in the labyrinth off screen, with only their bodies found after the carnage. This has disturbed the Spartans so much that being a 'sacrifice' has become less of a titular honor and more of a dangerous truth. In fact, it's become so treacherous to participate that a tight-lipped government has made this normally voluntary and enjoyable celebration a mandatory and random selection of citizens. The rumor is that the bulls have now been replaced with something closer to the real thing.

Name: Hyperion Alias: Ethan Rines Age: 6 Billion Years Gender: Male Race: Titan Reincarnation (If Applicable): N/A Chymos: Light and Air Rank (Level of Proficiency): Archon Faceclaim: David GandyPersonality: There is a level of respect that Hyperion has had for the humans thus far. Despite all the hell that the humans had been, they managed to survive-- almost like roaches. Somehow it felt admirable to him, despite their sheer stupidity and foolishness, in his opinion. He was always a fiercely loyal titan, siding with his brothers and sisters in ousting their father and even more so during the first war versus the Olympians. However, after being sealed twice with them, he lost his taste for battle against the new generation. Instead, he focused on himself once free, wanting nothing else than to live a life that was his own for as long as he could have it. In this new life, he was a dopamine junkie, enjoying all the pleasures of the new world. He grew a penchant for booze, women, and men that constantly needed to be fulfilled. His violent edge was both wet and whet through the fights he constantly found himself in. It was not until he had his newest child that he decided to settle down and take things slow, in order to make sure that he could raise what he knew was now a gift to the world-- and an omen of death: the reincarnation of an Olympian. Despite this, he did not treat his child and the mother as though they were tools-- he knew he would get more willing results by being kind. Of course, this led him to actually find them charming, enough so that it eventually led to actual affection and finally, love. He has become dedicated not simply to the success of his child but her safety and satisfaction in life-- so much so that he has begun to pursue a path to ascension for her, so that she too could join his eternal life as a titan hermit. Towards those that know him, he is nowadays quite relaxed, so much so that he is often called by the younger humans 'chill', much like a surfer that's long retired from their time in the waves. However, he is also mentioned to be 'unapproachable' and 'serious' by those that are on less familiar terms. Though occasionally given to violent outbursts (mostly towards those that disappoint or anger him), he keeps himself as even as he can through his (relatively) newfound love of art. Background: For billions of years, there was truly nothing notable about the life of Hyperion. He was not the firstborn, and so he had no responsibilities beyond the duties that were his birthright. Neither was he ambitious enough to seek anything beyond those limits set for him. It was only when his family begun to fracture that he began to make moves and have opinions that were out of line with the expectations set up for him. Ouranos begun to imprison his brothers and sisters, casting them to Tartarus for not fitting his expectations. It was this blatant disregard for life that upset him enough to begin to listen to the whispers of his other siblings-- those considered 'perfect creations' like him. Once having entered a pact with them, he would be among those to cast his father out of power, securing the age of the titans. Once again, a period of complacency overcame his life, and it was not until he was banished to Tartarus with them, millions of years later that he begun to consider the idea that he had cast his lot with the wrong folk. The idea was not cemented entirely until the second time this happened, after a brief period of freedom granted to them by the Atlantian people. It was during this secondary period that he defected from the Titans, deciding to pursue his own path. In exchange for his allegiance to the underworld, he was allowed to return to the overworld-- no longer a threat to the humans, more than four thousand five hundred years after his secondary banishment. This was mostly due to the fact that the seat of the underworld was vacant, and thus, his fealty was to the realm, with his only duty being to capture souls that manage to escape every once in a while. This occurrence was more frequent in part because no God ruled Hades. Once free, he pursued a life as the other gods did-- hidden amongst the humans, answering blessings that went unanswered and fulfilling his duties to the underworld by returning it's souls to their rightful place. He lived several lives in this time-- most recently as a criminal within the underworld of Atlas City. However, this changed after a meeting with the fates, who gave him warning of a child that he would father-- one that would be an omen of yet another time of great peril for the planet. This child would be a reincarnation of an Olympian, destined to ascend and fight against the Titans once more. Knowing this, he would quit what was essentially a 'game' to him and instead opened his own business-- a tattoo shop that has become quite popular with both the well to do and the roughnecks criminals of Atlas. Mostly this is because of a rather unique tattoo technique that he performs with his powers: naturally glowing tattoos. If a person has even a drop of godly blood in their ancestry, he can use his powers during the tattoo process in order to draw this ichor to the surface, fusing it with the ink thus creating a tattoo that glows at will. After meticulously searching for the right woman to mate with, he would do so, siring the demigod and reincarnation from the prophecy. Though he had originally no love for either the woman or the girl, he took them both in, and with time grew to love them both. In fact, he would go so far as to marry the woman he had originally conquered for the sake of a child. However, humans being all too fragile, she died of cancer by the time that his daughter turned 19. Since then, he has focused only on his legacy and living out his life in solitude-- enjoying simple pleasures as he finds them and biding his time, knowing that soon, the other shoe would drop. Player OOC Name: Balteus RP Sample: Putting out a cigarette was normally a rather painless action. However, this time, it was very painful. He snuffed it outright in the eye of the young man he had in the back of his car, and he couldn't help the corners of his lips rising as he heard his shrill, yet muffled scream of agony. "You shouldn't have fucked with me, Kyle. You worked for me too for long to not know you don't mess with my family. Especially not with my daughter." The audacity that he would even think of forcing her to do anything was so outrageous that he couldn't help but laugh. Incredulous amusement, to be sure-- but he would not be so amused for long. Chains tied him together and weighed Kyle down so much that he could barely breathe. He could hear the desperate attempts to an apology behind the cloth tied to his mouth, but Ethan only motioned as though he didn't hear anything at all. "Sorry, I can't hear the dead. But don't worry-- we can have a long talk when I drag you down to Tartarus." At the end of the chains were blocks of cement, no doubt meant only for one purpose. Hoisting the flailing man over his shoulder, he only relished in his sheer panic during the last moments of his life. "Well, this is the end, Kyle. I would say it was a pleasure to know you...but you were a shit worker." And with that, he would throw him into the harbor's waters. Though there was an attempt to remain afloat, it would only last until the concrete begun to sink past his feet. It was then that he would be pulled asunder. Not long after, any air bubbles and waves would disappear as well, allowing the water to return to it's oily calm. "And that's the end of that." There was no way that he would be caught-- no way for the crime to be traced back to him. As the soul left the body, he would raise his hand over the waters, allowing the body beneath to decay away in moments. Being a psychopomp certainly had its perks.

Name: Alexandros "Alex" Alexanrakis Age: 25 Gender: Male Race: Human Reincarnation (If Applicable): Reincarnation of Ares Chymos: Fire (Air to be added in the future) Rank (Level of Proficiency): Archon Faceclaim: Ken BekPersonality:PositiveHonorable Loyal Wild/Maverick Empathetic Negative
Hot Head Oblivious Brash Arrogant Background: [TW:Rape] There was never a time in Alex's life where he didn't have to work for what he had. Despite being born into a fabulously wealthy family that owned what was nothing less than a titan in Grand Sparta's steel industry, it did not mean that he felt welcome in it. He was very unlike his brothers and sister, products of planned pedigree. He was a bastard-- the product of the violence between a criminal and his mother. He was born as the eldest, and to his mother's husband, a stain on their legacy. The man who sired him was sentenced to prison, and despite the very painful experience, his mother never treated him any differently than she did her other children. In fact, because of the way that he was treated by his family, she would give to him extra love and care-- always making sure that Alexandros grew up knowing he felt loved by someone. His siblings were also very amicable and surprisingly normal in their relationship with him. All the household tension easily came from the relationship Alex had with the man he knew as his father. He was always treated differently by him. At every turn, he was put down and put to work, earning the privileges that his brother and sisters took for granted. From the moment that he could understand words, they would be used as knives to hurt and isolate him. Alex had to adapt quickly and learned to be tough in the face of insults. In the end, it made him rebel early and more severely than any of his other siblings. It was when he became too much for his parents to handle that he was sent off to Bootcamp. It was here that he learned to truly thrive, despite his then hatred of structure. He relished the experience so much in fact, that once he returned, he would set his sights on one thing: joining the military. It was strangely at this point that his relationship with his father changed. Though there was still a thick layer of tension, and certainly animosity from Alex, his father would encourage his passion whenever possible. It was in fact through his string-pulling that he was able to enroll in the most well known military academy in Grand Sparta, The Leonidas Military Academy. He was accepted two years earlier than every other applicant-- at the age of 16, where he studied and trained in tandem to high school. Every part of him assumed he only wanted to expedite his departure, but Alexandros did not waste the opportunity because of that. He would graduate the academy at the top of his class with a Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies right before his 19th birthday. From this point, Alex rose in the ranks, quicker than any other officer before him. He would see combat and serve with distinction until he was transferred out from active combat right before his 25th birthday. He now serves in the civil branch of the military as a commander, fighting against the upheaval rising in Atlas City. Player OOC Name: Balteus RP Sample:Alex slid hard against the wet concrete-- so much so that he slipped onto his right side. He kept going, unable to stop the momentum his feet caught themselves against the wall. Getting up, felt his leg bare and bloody, the material against his thigh completely obliterated by the friction. His fingers pressed against the wound, and while he hissed in reaction, he pressed further, until a shard of obsidian was pushed up through the flesh and fluid. Once he was able to grab at the head of it with his fingernails, he teased it upwards before pulling out the whole piece. It was only one shard, but it was the only one that really damn hurt. The man approaching him simply held his ground, gripping at his obsidian tipped spear. "No suit, no plan, no backup? You're the dumbest fucking cop I've ever seen!" He narrowed his eyes at this man. It was his fault for not coming prepared. So much of the time, the police were known to follow the onset of tragedy-- never arriving on time. Alex wouldn't allow himself to be one of those cops-- the ones that threw their hands in the air as easily as they would turn their backs on those suffering. It wasn't right, so he would jump into action readily...just not ready for action. Still, he brought his swords and so he would pull them out. Flames flared from the steel, burning bright enough that the swords tinged with warmth in their color. The heavy rain put him at quite the disadvantage-- his flames couldn't burn as hot, but it did create thick, heavy steam and smoke that clung to the air and seeped into every crevice it could. It wasn't long until neither could see the other. It was at this moment that the fire would die out from the metal, and he would run without a moment's hesitation right at the other. The man opposing him opened his stance and maneuvered his spear, point facing forward, ready to impale him. He was no fool-- he could hear the footsteps that splashed against the rain. What kind of fool was he to just run at him like this? It was almost as though he had a deathwish! It was then that a loud woosh rang in the air and a clang behind him. Turning around in confusion gave Alex the opportunity he needed. With a throw of his first blade and with a clean swipe of the other, it would all be over. It was this excursion and more importantly, the clash that landed him in a room with three men: the Chief of Atlas City Police, a General, and his old superior Captain Septimus. Sitting before them, he quietly watched them read documents, riffling through his hastily written report, and other papers wrinkled from moisture and lack of care. "Why would you do something like this?" The chief raised up the paper, red-faced and vein protruding from his neck. It was apparent that it took everything he had to not explode into a tirade. "We spoke to Captain Septimus, and while your behavior may have been fine in the military, this shit is unacceptable in the civil branch! Going alone without the proper equipment...using deadly force without permission...no unit reinforcements! No one even knew you had gone alone!" When Alex's gaze wandered towards the captain, it snapped back into place when the General cleared his throat. He looked at him in the eye directly. "Commander Alexandrakis, it is only because of your distinguished service that this meeting is to reprimand your approach on this mission. That and the fact that you did take down the right guy. However, you know your rank and your position. There are people under your command that rely on clear-headed decisions to complete their objectives." "I understand." Alex lowered his head. "You're young...but you're not the youngest to ever be at this station. Treat your job with dignity. This isn't about saving the day. It's about keeping Atlas safe." "Atlas was saved. By saving the day, I kept it safe." "That may be so, but that's only because you got lucky. Alexandrakis, we can't keep having these meetings every time you decide to play hero. I'm not asking you to stop, I'm telling you to do your job right. I get that your methods worked out when it was just you and your squadron in the mountains, but you need to get your head on straight. This is a whole different game, and you need to play it just like the rest of us. If not, you'll find yourself in a tribune with men much angrier than us. Are we clear?" "Yes, sir." "Good, then we have an understanding. You're dismissed."

The Universe of New Blood is very unique, in that it takes place in a futuristic version of the past.
In the year 1985, the internet very much resembles the one that exists in this world, though more restricted by the government. There is research, websurfing, video sharing sites and all one normally expects, but all very much under the watchful eye of the state. There is only one social media site, Foundry, and all information posted on it is cataloged. Despite this, most everyone still uses it happily to stay in touch with their friends and the world.
There are rules and regulations that keep people from using their chymos in the city, and those who disobey them are punished severely. The military and police are entirely made of chymos users of the regulator level and up and entire academies are created in the creation of more people to fill these roles. They are allowed more freedom to use their powers in apprehending criminals or battling the enemy, but still have many rules to follow and are generally held to a higher standard. Society has been generally built upon the gifts of the gods, and so it's buildings have been made to much higher standards, able to withstand some of the risks that come with chymos users.
Those who use their powers tend to wear exosuits in battle, which are also made to take heavy damage, and depending on its specifications, are resistant to certain attacks, up to a point. However, guns do not exist in this universe as there has never been a need. As a result, different countries have risen to prominence as the stagnation in technology was never steep enough for certain peoples to completely steamroll over others with simply their advanced weaponry.
Self-driving cars are the norm in certain places, and hovercars/hoverbikes are newly arrived to the public. High speed rails make travel between distant cities a simple commute. An airplane is able to cross halfway around the world in less than 7 hours without stop.
Greece, Rome, and the Byzantine Empire have always been the 'leaders' of the world, so to speak. The best of culture and technology have come from it or it's former colonies.
This roleplay's main location is Atlas City, the Capital of Grand Sparta-- a territory in North America that takes up the west half of the real world united states, as well as the southern part of Canada, all of Latin America, and the Caribean Islands. Atlas City is located near the Pacific Coast. It's neighbours are Nova Roma to the south and the Kingdom of Vinland to the north and east. While Nova Roma is an incredibly structured society, just like the actual Roman Empire, the Kingdom of Vinland is more of a federation of smaller provinces that are allied together due to the threat of Sparta to it's south and west.

Long ago, the continent of Atlantis was the jewel of the world, and playground for the Greek Gods. It was a land of progress, where legends were born and where people carried the blood of the gods. Their gift-- that blood was revered.
However, as time passed the humans grew prideful-- they thought themselves better than the gods. In fact, they thought that they could control forces even the gods feared.
Atlantis…it did not sink. It was completely torn apart.
The humans released forces of nature that the Gods had imprisoned. These were the Titans, whom had been imprisoned in Tartarus during the war for Olympus. Now freed, they sought to destroy everything. Atlantis and it's people fought back the invasion valiantly, but were annihilated. Pain and misery spread throughout the rest of the world. Before they could erase the humans from existance, however, the Gods met them in battle.
The humanity would be saved, a second gift. In a battle for the fate of the world, the Titans were once again sealed. However, the Gods performed the ultimate sacrifice: nearly all were wiped out.
However, there was hope, as the Gift from the Gods was not lost and those that remained knew that one day, their fallen would be born again…
But only when the world needed them
Thousands of years later, humanity has not forgotten the gods that sacrificed themselves for them. Their lives are still linked to the gifts given to them. Though the survivors do not live among them, they occasionally visit, doing their part to keep the balance in a world where some duties are left unfulfilled.
Without all the gods alive to take care of the planet, human societies have reached the breaking point. Those with resources horde them, forcing those without to fend for themselves in any way they can. As crime rises, so do tensions, and all know it's only a matter of time before the ultimate war breaks out.
For this reason, some have once again turned to the Titans, believing that they hold the power to lift the world from it's current state. Many of those that now look to the Titans look to them as the only hope humanity has left, even at the risk of destroying everything they know. Many believe that what will rise from the ashes on the other side is better than the rot that currently exists.
Little do they know, the Titans have mysteriously found a way out again, now with new plans for the Earth...
